Whether you have an indoor cat that rarely goes out or a social cat that goes with you everywhere, every cat owner should have a cat carrier. There will inevitably be times when you want to take your cat wit you or need to take your cat to the veterinarian and cat carriers are the only way to go. A box just will not do the trick.

Cheap cat carriers are excellent if you don’t plan on taking your cat with you on a plane or traveling or if you just need something to get you to the vet and back. If you are a social person who takes their cat with them on car trips, to the store, and to visit friends, a purse cat carrier might be the best option for you. They look just like a big purse and are fashionable enough to suit your lifestyle. They are easy for your cat to ride in.

The other times you might need a cat carrier is when you are traveling. If you are traveling by plane you will want to make sure you have an airline approved cat carrier. Soft sided cat carriers are excellent if you are making a long trip and will prevent your cat from getting hurt if there is unnecessary jostling during the trip. Since you are likely to be carrying your personal luggage with you as well, a rolling cat carrier might make your trip a little bit easier. With the wheels on the bottom, you won’t have to worry about dropping your precious cargo. One of the more popular cat carriers is the Avior cat carrier. This sturdy carrier comes complete with ventilation slots and a safety belt slot that is great for car travel. A quality cat travel carrier is essential if you plan on taking your feline companion with you on any trip.

Top loading cat carriers are much easier to get you pet into, especially if you pet is not fond of a carrier. On the other hand, they can also be more difficult to get him out of!

Whether you on are a short trip or a longer trip, having a cat carrier and a toy or two to play with will make the trip much easier on your cat. He will be more comfortable and being more comfortable will cause less stress for him.
