Cat Breeds
There are several different cat breeds and each has a few unique and interesting tidbits. Often times a loving home will take in a feral cat wondering what kind they are. There are many resources that can assist you in finding what breed of cat you are the proud new owner of! Here we will look at breeds of house cats and a bit about each one.
Burmese Cat:
A Burmese cat is a fun loving cat that has a dog like personality. They are very loyal to their owners. Burmese cats can be found on almost every breed list and there are thousands of Burmese cat breeders.
Himalayan Cat:
The Himalayan cat is of the domestic cat breeds that are also considered a Persian cat. The body of this cat is generally white, but has similar markings of the Siamese.
Maine Coon Cat:
The Maine Coon Cat is the oldest breed in North America. The reason for their name is their status in the state of Maine; it is believed that they originated in that area of the country. These cats are domestic and are easy to care for. They have a bushy tail and wonderful disposition.
Manx Cat:
A Manx cat is one that has a naturally occurring issue with the spine that causes a short tail. Some are even without a tail. They have a rounded appearance but are wonderful jumpers. Their coat is typically thick with a course outer layer.
Ragdoll Cat:
The Ragdoll cat is not only adorable, but also very affectionate. Eyes are blue, personality is relaxed and they do well with the entire family.
Russian Blue Cat:
The Russian Blue cat’s origin remains a bit of a mystery, but their beauty certainly doesn’t. These cats are mistaken sometimes for the black cat breeds, but can have a dense coat with blue or white looking crystals. They have a unique look, and if you can find one make a great pet!
Sand Cat:
The Sand cat is a short cat with wonderful markings. Generally they are sand colored with a ring around pattern on their tails. Sand cats are typically very attached to their cat breed pillows!
Savannah Cat:
The Savannah cat is a rare breed that is a mix of a domestic cat and an African serval. These cats are known for their loyalty to their owners and soft nature with children. Though unique they are lovely animals.

Siamese Cat:
The nature of the Siamese cat is mystical and mysterious. The Siamese is known for a unique look and grace that supersedes all other breeds of cats. These cats love their cat breed specific gifts, so lavish them!
Siberian Cat:
If you are looking for a domestic breed of cat that is easy on the allergies’ the Siberian cat is the one for you. The beautiful plush coat is ruffed at the neck which almost looks like cat breed jewelry, perfection!
Sphinx Cat:
The Sphinx and Devon Rex cats are too cute. They have little to no hair and everyone falls in love with their playful and sweet disposition. You can find many individuals around the world that are Sphinx and Devon Rex cat breeders.
Calico Cat:
If you are looking for luck try the Calico cat out. These multi-colored friends are said to bring their owners good luck. These are the patch cats, defined by their patches of color throughout their coat.
