Russian Blue Cat
A Russian Blue Cat is a very attractive animal as it appears to have a kind of shimmer on its coat. This is because Russian Blue Cats have two layers to their coats, which is unique to this breed of cat. The under layer is a softy downy coat. The outer layer of longer gaurd hairs is blue-gray with silver tips. The silver tips are what gives the coat its shimmer. This shimmer is the main differentiation between domestic cats that appear to look like a Russian Blue and a true Russian Blue. The other distinguishing factor of a true Russian Blue Cat is the mauve footpads as opposed to the common slate gray footpads of a domestic housecat. A Blue Russian Cat will typically have vivid, dark green eyes but they will sometimes lean more towards a yellowy-green. Some Russian Blue kittens will be born with a whitish patch on their tummies or darker striations on the tail. A true Russian Blue kitten will lose these patches and stripes as it gets older. A Russian Blue mix cat may have some of the redeeming qualities of a true breed but will be more likely to keep the yellow eyes, the white patches, or the striations as it matures.
In general, a Russian Blue kitten will be very playful and they tend to be very intelligent. They develop a close bond with their owners but have a tendency to be shy around strangers. They are very sensitive and have been know to try and cheer up someone that is sad or sick by patting their face or just sitting close by to keep an eye on them. Also, because of their intelligence, they are often capable of learning tricks like playing fetch or learning to turn on water faucets on their own.

In 2005, Russian Blue Cat calendars were a popular calendar item. People are naturally attracted to this cat because it appears to have a smile on its little face that is quite charming and makes them very photogenic. A Russian Blue cat calendar still makes an excellent gift for any cat lover.
If you are looking for Russian Blue Cats for sale, a breeder is always the best option. You can occasionally find Russian Blue cats at pet stores but because they are affectionate and need the company of others, they are sometimes not socialized properly. A Russian Blue cat breeder will ensure that the kitten has been properly inoculated but they will also give the kitten time to socialize and learn to get along with others. Socialization is a very big part of a kitten’s early life. Blue Russian cats for sale can be found in many locations from a choice of quality reputable Blue Russian cat breeders. The price of a Russian Blue cat will vary depending on they type, its markings, and its bloodlines.
